读诗赏译| 席慕容《乡愁》及两个英译本
乡愁源自于人们对家乡故土的思念与眷恋，是人类共同而永恒的情感流露。远离家乡的游子们，又有谁能逃脱思乡之苦呢？自古文人多乡愁。我们被孟郊在《游子吟》中化乡愁为伟大的母爱所感动，被余光中在《乡愁》中对祖国大陆的无限思念而流泪。此次林苑君选了席慕蓉的《乡愁》。对于她，乡音如月夜下一首笛曲，清新缭绕；乡貌随着时间的推移，在记忆中变得模糊，似雾相隔，然而，乡情缠绵，乡愁在她看来却是恒古不变，如一颗永不老去的树。目前，小编所能搜寻到的可读性强的英文译本只有两个，译者分别为许景城、黎历。以飨读者。译本各有千秋，优劣处，请读者自赏。河北卫视双语主播李强朗诵许景城英文译本，新闻主播王益豪朗诵中文原诗，录音师张晖进行音频编辑。特此感谢。

乡愁
席慕蓉 作故乡的歌是一支清远的笛
总在有月亮的晚上响起
故乡的面貌却是一种模糊的怅惘
仿佛雾里的挥手别离
离别后
乡愁是一棵没有年轮的树
永不老去
My homeland is a song, distinctive and distant
Always fluted on the moon-lit nights.
Yet, misty and dismayed is her face
Like the farewell in the haze.
After departing,
Nostalgia is a tree without rings,
Never aging.
Note:
Xi Murong, born in Inner Mongolia on October 15th, 1943, is a prestigious artist, poet, and prosaist. As an artist, she won many prizes, such as Belgium Royal Gold Medal, and Bronze Awards of European Artists Association. As a poet, she published an anthology titled Qi Li Xiang(《七里香》) after she resided in Taiwan, which became a whirlwind in Taiwan literati in 1981. In 2011, another anthology by her called In the Name of Poetry (《以诗之名》) was published. As a prosaist, she published The Growth Trail in 1982(《成长的痕迹》) and The Tasteof Life in 1997 (《生命的滋味》).
