The program is sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and is organized by School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA), Fudan University.
Introduction
The program is an initiative of the Shanghai Municipal Government to promote mutual understanding between young diplomats from Belt and Road countries. With a theme of “Consensus, Common Prosperity and Sharing”, Advanced Training Program for Young Diplomatic Talents from Belt and Road Countries aims to build a platform for young diplomats from Belt and Road countries to learn together and discuss issues about China’s global roles and the future of global governance. The program will introduce political, economic, social, cultural and ecological developments in China, analyze China’s new diplomatic perspectives and policies, discuss Belt and Road Initiative and regional cooperation and governance reforms. It is expected that the young diplomats in the program will be able to better understand the China’s diplomatic values, policies and directions as well as those of other Belt and Road countries.
Curriculum
The curriculum comprises lectures with a variety of topics including Reform and Development of China’s Political System, China’s Economic Transformation, Development and Innovation-driven Strategy, Modernization of China’s Social Governance System, Inheritance and Modernization of the Chinese Culture, China’s New Diplomatic Strategy, Regional Cooperation and Mutual Development of Belt and Road countries, National Conditions of Belt and Road countries. Seminars, group discussions and field trips will be organized. Leading experts, senior diplomats and practical specialists will be invited to the program.
The working language of the program is English.

October 15 – November 2, 2018 (no classes at weekends and public holidays).

Certificate of Completion
Students who successfully participate and finish the program will get a formal certificate of completion.
Application
1. Qualification
Young diplomats from Belt and Road countries. Applicants should be younger than forty, and should be working on issues related to diplomatic issues.
2. Online Application Procedure
1. Please log into the website (http://admission.iso.fudan.edu.cn/) to register and complete the application form online, upload the application documents required and submit the application.

2. Please send the following list of electronic application documents in a compressed file to sirpa_io@fudan.edu.cn with the following contents in the subject line: BRI + FULL NAME + COUNTRY
1) The complete application form downloaded from the online application website.
2) One official copy of diploma from each previous college-level degree program or proof of impending graduation (for applicants in their final year of study)
3) One copy of valid passport identification page, and it should be an ordinary passport and be valid by June 30, 2019.
4) Personal Statement in English (no more than 1,000 words)

The shortlisted applicants shall be informed via email by September 5, 2018.
Financial Support
There is no application fee. Round trip tickets will be reimbursed. Local accommodation in Shanghai will be provided.
